Vandiver Heating & Air
A technician crouched at an outdoor condensing unit beside a house, with a service van at the kerb behind him.

Woodstock, Georgia · Since 1987

The same family has answered this phone since 1987.

Heating, cooling, water heaters, and indoor air quality across Cherokee County and north Cobb. About twenty-two of us, one shop on Rope Mill Road, and a 24-hour line that a Vandiver actually answers.

24/7 emergency service

Broken at 2am? That's the number.

No heat under 40° · No cooling over 85° · Gas smell · Water on the floor · A breaker that keeps tripping

One number, day or night, holidays included. It rings a rotation of our own technicians, not an answering service in another state.

What it usually costs to replace a system

Most shops will not put this on a website. Here it is, with the scope of each number stated and the date it was set.

  • Furnace Installation

    $4,500$9,000

Complete replacement of a residential gas furnace in a single-system home, including the permit, a standard sheet-metal transition, a thermostat, and haul-away. Excludes duct modification, gas-line work, electrical upgrades, and multi-system homes.

    As of August 1, 2026

  • AC Installation

    from $6,900

Complete replacement of a residential split-system air conditioner matched to the existing air handler, including the permit, a line-set flush or replacement, a new pad, a thermostat, and haul-away. Excludes duct modification and electrical service upgrades.

    As of August 1, 2026

  • Heat Pump Installation

    from $6,000

Complete replacement of a residential split-system heat pump matched to the existing air handler, including the permit, a line-set flush or replacement, a new pad, a thermostat, backup heat staging, and haul-away. Excludes duct modification, electrical service upgrades, and dual-fuel conversions.

    As of August 1, 2026

Ranges shown as of August 1, 2026.

Ranges shown describe a typical installation of the scope stated beside them and are current as of the date shown. They are not quotes.

Duct modification, gas or electrical work, code corrections, multi-system homes, and access difficulty all change the number. We give you a written price with the scope on it before any work starts.

Second generation

Ray started it. Erik runs it. Nobody sold it.

1987

Ray Vandiver started this company out of a garage in 1987, with one truck and a phone that rang at the house. He picked Cherokee County because it was cheap and quiet, and then watched it turn into one of the fastest-growing counties in Georgia around him.

His son Erik grew up riding along on Saturdays, got his own tools at nineteen, and took the company over in 2011. Not much else changed. Dana runs operations. Ruben has been here since 2004. When you call, one of about twenty-two people answers, and when the truck shows up it is somebody whose name is on this website.

The rest of the story

What the work looks like

Three of the things we do most, photographed the way they actually look on a job rather than the way equipment looks in a catalogue.

Maintenance membership

The Comfort Club

Three month-to-month maintenance memberships. Cancel with a phone call. It is a maintenance plan, not a warranty, and it does not pay for parts.

  • Silver

    $16 / month

Month-to-month. Cancel anytime. This is a maintenance membership — not a warranty.

One visit a year, and you stop being a stranger when something breaks.

  • Gold

    $27 / month

Month-to-month. Cancel anytime. This is a maintenance membership — not a warranty.

Spring and fall. This is what most people pick.

  • Platinum

    $42 / month

Month-to-month. Cancel anytime. This is a maintenance membership — not a warranty.

For older systems and for people who do not want to think about the clock at 11pm.

Paying for it

Nothing due at installation, if the credit is approved

A system replacement is a five-figure decision that usually arrives on the worst possible day. Here is the fixed-rate option in full, with the arithmetic shown — the deferred-interest one is on the financing page, and it needs reading more carefully than this one does.

Both offers, and who lends the money

Fixed-rate installment financing

Due at installation
$0
Fixed APR
9.99%
Maximum term
120 months

A fixed rate over a fixed term, with nothing due at installation. The payment does not change and there is no promotional period to miss. The rate you are offered depends on the amount financed and on your credit, and it is set by the lender rather than by us.

Best for: A full system replacement you intend to pay off over years rather than months, where a predictable payment matters more than a headline rate.

Representative example

$8,500 financed at 9.99% APR for 120 months is $112.28 per month. Total of payments $13,473.73. This is a representative example, not an offer of credit. Your rate and term depend on the amount financed and on your credit, and are set by the lender. With approved credit.

The person who shows up

Technician spotlights are rare in this trade and we do not know why. This is who takes the after-hours calls.

Tim FowlerService Manager

Tim runs the service board and takes the after-hours calls that come in past midnight. Nineteen years in the trade, eighteen of them here. He is the person who will tell you your system has four good years left instead of selling you one tonight.

Technicians who open a refrigerant circuit hold EPA Section 608 certification, which federal law requires. Section 608 is a federal certification category, not a private programme, which is why it is the only per-person credential shown on this site.

Right now

Every offer shows its own end date and its own terms, in the offer. There is no asterisk on this website.

  • Second system on a cooling tune-up at half the visit rate

    Ends September 15, 2026

If we are already at the house for one system, the second one is priced at half. Two air handlers is genuinely two visits' worth of work, but it is not two drives, and we would rather pass that on than pretend otherwise.

Offers are valid on the dates shown, in our service area, for residential customers, on one system. They cannot be combined with other offers or applied to work already in progress. We reserve the right to end an offer early.

    Book a cooling tune-up
  • Join the Comfort Club and the first tune-up is scheduled that week

    Ends September 30, 2026

New members joining before the end of September get their first precision tune-up booked inside seven days rather than into the seasonal queue. Month-to-month, cancel with a phone call, and nothing is charged until we have talked.

Offers are valid on the dates shown, in our service area, for residential customers, on one system. They cannot be combined with other offers or applied to work already in progress. We reserve the right to end an offer early.

Where we work

Woodstock · Canton · Holly Springs · Ball Ground · Waleska · Jasper · East Cobb · Marietta · Roswell · Alpharetta

Every one of these pages says something true about that town that is not true of the other nine — housing era, heating fuel, which office issues the permit, what the drive actually is. If a page could have the town name swapped out and still read fine, it should not exist, and we cut five candidate towns on exactly that test.

Tell us what it's doing and we'll come look.

Three questions, an address, and a photo of the model plate if you can safely get one.
